Areej earned her Bachelor of Architecture from Damascus University in 2014, later teaching Design III and IV as an assistant instructor. In 2019, she received a Master of Science in Building Design on a full scholarship from Anadolu University in Turkey. A founding member of Young Syrian Urbanists and a contributor to Urbegony Architecture – Education without Borders – Syria, she joined the CDA team in 2021, bringing six years of design experience. She has lived in Syria, Turkey, Spain, and the U.S., and is fluent in English, Turkish, and Arabic, with basic knowledge of French.
An early bird, Areej is most grateful for her supportive family—her parents, husband, siblings, and daughter. She has contributed to educational non-profits focused on living environments in Syria and has received three awards, including the European Erasmus+ internship award and a Turkish scholarship. Passionate about sensory-rich spaces, she dreams of opening a traditional Damascene-style restaurant in Rhode Island, where architecture, nature, and culture seamlessly blend. In her free time, she enjoys swimming and drawing.
